“You are not Sky Shadow.” The words are enough to provoke a fight to the death between any two self-respecting members of Sundog’s tribe, yet the turning point in this young hunter’s life is when his own chief utters the words “I am not Sky Shadow.” Sundog is a central character in Tribes: The Dog Years, the new graphic fiction series from Soulcraft Comics.
His early days are spent honing his skill, speed and instinct, but as he reaches an age where he can challenge his peers for leadership and privilege, he finds that his courage may diverge from that of his chief.
More than any other character, Sundog carries with him the weight of almost an entire civilization, if one tribe can be called that. If Doctor Irving Adams, the immortal, is successful in his search, Sundog’s strength may change the future of the entire human race.
Without Sundog’s support, Doctor Adams may never get the chance to follow his “magic” to what he believes may be the key to ending humanity’s plague. Is it his destiny to blaze a path for humanity? Will a new tribe - a Tribe of the Quest - be borne of the ragtag remnants of the defeated, the lost, the aimless? Will Sundog, a humble hunter in the Sky Shadows, be reborn as a new leader?
Only time and experience will tell. For Sundog will travel thousands of miles, and his journey will be full of fantastic discoveries and mortal dangers in Tribes: The Dog Years, coming soon from SoulCraft Comics.

FALLINGSTAR in Tribes: The Dog Years, the new color graphic fiction series from Soulcraft Comics:
For the Sky Shadow tribe, life consists of a series of tough choices between absolute necessities. Survival is paramount; everyone has a role to play in a tightly knit tribal system. But for Fallingstar, being chosen as the future wife of a Chief, somehow does not feel right. What is her true destiny? Why does she yearn for more, beyond her role.
She yearns to become more than is expected of her. Does she dedicate her life to her duty, or does she take another path? Can a young woman determine her people’s priorities while also avoiding her role as one of their leaders? Will her determination endanger her and her people’s future? But there is no time to ponder. In the world of Tribes: The Dog Years, humans live to only twenty-one years of age. Fallingstar must act - now!
And so she is inspired by Doctor Irving Adams, the seemingly immortal scientist who has apparently lived nearly three lifetimes, and his tales of a world beyond the limited existence of her isolated and constantly threatened tribe. How has he survived? Is his magic real, as opposed to the nonsense of the Sky Shadows’ medicine man, Signeader. Dr. Adams seeds the dream that one day she might actually see and help raise her grandchildren.
Her influence stirs Sundog, our reluctant hero, to join Adams and his mysterious quest to find the source of the “plague” that robs humans of precious life at the tender age of twenty-one.
Fallingstar, future wife of the Chief of the Sky Shadows, will play a crucial role in the future of humanity.

“I am not a mother yet. I want to fight.”
Fallingstar utters these words to justify participating in the defense of the Sky Shadows against an enemy attack.
It is Fallingstar who seizes upon Dr. Adams’ description of a future where kids can actually know their grandparents. His dream seed sprouts in her mind. And she decides to leave everything behind - her future husband, the Sky Shadows, everything - to try to forge a new future for herself. Though she defies expectations of her role in the Sky Shadows tribe, she carries her maternal idealism to the battlefield to fight for the future of the entire human race.
Will she succeed? Will her strength help humanity secure its future?

The tribe of Sundog, Fallingstar and Rockjumper is ruled by a Chief and two advisors: the Medicine Man and the First Warrior, in Tribes: The Dog Years, the new color graphic fiction/comic book series from Soulcraft Comics.
As the story opens, the reigning Chief, Deerslayer, is in failing health, and it will soon fall to Rockjumper to assume the leadership role of the Sky Shadows, a role he has observed as First Warrior and the leader of many hunting parties.
But there are doubts that the heir apparent to Deerslayer’s rule is ready for his responsibilities. Rockjumper seems to be very rigid in his adherence to the “Sky Shadow Way,” the central warrior code that holds the tribe together and forms the heroic myth by which hunters are trained and their success is measured.
These doubts are inflamed when Sundog begins to chafe at Rockjumper’s ruthlessness, and the stage is set for an eventual showdown between the voices of the future and those of the past.

Not all of the Sky Shadows are virtuous in their pursuit of the people’s common welfare. Some members of the tribe view the current state of civilization, such as it is, as more of an opportunity than an obstacle to be overcome or a problem to be solved.
One such member of the Sky Shadow tribe is its shaman or “seer,” known as Signreader. His influence over the affairs of his people has grown steadily, especially since Rockjumper’s ascension as the new Chief.
Signreader’s ritualistic role as an oracle of sorts is facilitated by his use of a small toy duck on a stick which he uses to foretell the fate of the people, whether good or ill. To the cultures that vanished to make room for the Sky Shadows, such a ritual would be nothing short of laughable. But to the Sky Shadow Tribe, Signreader’s words carry the weight of their entire ancestry.
Will Signreader’s influence lead the Sky Shadows to ruin? Or will the answers to help Sundog and Fallingstar be found elsewhere?

Faced with need to develop throwback defenses and weapons for hand-to-hand combat with both beasts and hostile tribes, Rockjumper, Chief of the Sky Shadows, has been forced to improvise from what materials were at hand in Tribes: The Dog Years, the new color comic book from Soulcraft Comics.
Rockjumper’s resourcefulness is his fortune. It was Rockjumper who brought his tribe its first major technological advance with the introduction of recovered sports equipment as combat armor. One of his early scavenging expeditions led his brother, Deerslayer, then the Sky Shadow Chief, to a warehouse filled with packaged and boxed products meant to be delivered to stores: among them a sporting goods retailer.
The helmets, elbow pads, football uniforms, shoulder pads, and facemasks were quickly repurposed by the Sky Shadow warriors under Rockjumper’s direction. Soon, dozens of Sky Shadow hunter and warrior teams were sent into battle wearing plastic and synthetic fabrics instead of metal and hides. With their lighter and machine-manufactured armor, the Sky Shadows found themselves well fit for battle with advantages in both weight and flexibility.

Among the many fascinating buildings in the Sky Shadow village is the storehouse of plants, seeds, flowers and sapling trees belonging to Plantmixer, a primal botanist in the world of Tribes: The Dog Years, the new color comic book from Soulcraft Comics.
Plantmixer’s home is a menagerie of natural life. She is one of the few Sky Shadows with her own hut, and she uses the extra room to store and organize almost any new leaf, seed or extract the hunting parties come across in their travels. Every kind of jar, bottle and container can be found in the “Plant House,” from huge drums of brackish water surrounded by algae blooms to tiny laboratory vials with a few milligrams of thyme spices.
In her makeshift botanical workshop, Plantmixer studies what she finds, and selects certain of her plants to present to the Chief, his Shaman and the Hunting Party Leader for various ceremonies and functions of the tribe. Her favorite flowers are birds of paradise which are discovered near the Sky Shadow village growing wild in the abandoned remains of a garden center. On her recommendation, these flowers are considered to be almost sacred to the tribe, and the primary decoration for any ceremonies involving new pronouncements by a Chief.

Sky Shadows medicine man and senior oracle Signreader knows what troubles the tribe - its growing belief that the Headhunters, a feral and chaotic enemy, are organizing themselves for an unknown purpose.
Throughout the first volume of Tribes: The Dog Years, the new color comic book series from SoulCraftComics.com, readers will notice that the Headhunters are not only using camouflage, but using it skillfully enough to gather vital information about the Sky Shadows. They will surely threaten not only the survival of the Sky Shadow tribe, but also the future of humanity, for it is the Sky Shadows that hold Dr. Irving Adams prisoner, and Dr. Adams is perhaps the only man on earth who understands the mysterious plague that shortens the human lifespan to 21 years well enough to concoct a cure.
If the Headhunters are organizing themselves, what is their purpose? Is it possible the Headhunters know something about the Sky Shadows’ new quest? Could they thwart Dr. Adams plans, and if so, are they doing it purposefully?
If the Headhunters are successful, none of these questions may ever be answered.

The Headhunter Chief is a clever savage. His Enforcer or henchman makes sure his orders are carried out and the packs obeys the Chief’s every command in Tribes: The Dog Years, a new color comic book coming soon to SoulCraftComics.com.
How did this relationship develop? How did a group of scavengers become an organized band of marauders with a home camp as a base? Someone managed to climb to tame this motley crew with sheer ruthless cunning. And that someone had help in the form of this bruiser. One is reminded of the Master-Blaster character(s) in “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.”
