TRIBES:The Dog Years – premise
Thursday, November 13th, 2008When a nano-virus accidentally shortens the HUMAN LIFESPAN to TWENTY-ONE YEARS, all hell - as one would imagine – breaks loose and civilization falls into a deep decline. Chaos engulfs populations centers and all semblance of civil society collapses. What’s left, after the last afflicted “adults” die off, are scattered groups of kids and teenagers. They slowly start to reorganize and eventually, over a hundred years after the “plague” hit, there are now packs, clans, groups, even TRIBES, which have formed around unifying mythologies. Human culture is reestablished, mini-societies, fragile, hopeful and desperate to survive, hang on for dear life. Welcome to the world of TRIBES: THE DOG YEARS from SoulCraftComics.com.
Welcome to the Headhunters’ New Camp
Saturday, October 11th, 2008According to the Sky Shadows’ meager knowledge of their lands’ other inhabitants, the Headhunters are scattered and enigmatic, little more than feral pests, savage scavengers. Recently, though, unbeknownst to the Sky Shadows, things have changed. A chief has arisen from the motley rabble. And with this new leadership a new tribe is born.
Is it possible the leadership of this Chief has given the Headhunters a path to a civilization of their own – a civilization to be built from the wreckage of conquered and pulverized tribes?

The Sky Shadow Camp

Fallingstar of the Sky Shadows
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008FALLINGSTAR in Tribes: The Dog Years, the new color graphic fiction series from Soulcraft Comics:
For the Sky Shadow tribe, life consists of a series of tough choices between absolute necessities. Survival is paramount; everyone has a role to play in a tightly knit tribal system. But for Fallingstar, being chosen as the future wife of a Chief, somehow does not feel right. What is her true destiny? Why does she yearn for more, beyond her role.
She yearns to become more than is expected of her. Does she dedicate her life to her duty, or does she take another path? Can a young woman determine her people’s priorities while also avoiding her role as one of their leaders? Will her determination endanger her and her people’s future? But there is no time to ponder. In the world of Tribes: The Dog Years, humans live to only twenty-one years of age. Fallingstar must act – now!
And so she is inspired by Doctor Irving Adams, the seemingly immortal scientist who has apparently lived nearly three lifetimes, and his tales of a world beyond the limited existence of her isolated and constantly threatened tribe. How has he survived? Is his magic real, as opposed to the nonsense of the Sky Shadows’ medicine man, Signeader. Dr. Adams seeds the dream that one day she might actually see and help raise her grandchildren.
Her influence stirs Sundog, our reluctant hero, to join Adams and his mysterious quest to find the source of the “plague” that robs humans of precious life at the tender age of twenty-one.
Fallingstar, future wife of the Chief of the Sky Shadows, will play a crucial role in the future of humanity.
Sundog of the Sky Shadows
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008“You are not Sky Shadow.” The words are enough to provoke a fight to the death between any two self-respecting members of Sundog’s tribe, yet the turning point in this young hunter’s life is when his own chief utters the words “I am not Sky Shadow.” Sundog is a central character in Tribes: The Dog Years, the new graphic fiction series from Soulcraft Comics.
His early days are spent honing his skill, speed and instinct, but as he reaches an age where he can challenge his peers for leadership and privilege, he finds that his courage may diverge from that of his chief.
More than any other character, Sundog carries with him the weight of almost an entire civilization, if one tribe can be called that. If Doctor Irving Adams, the immortal, is successful in his search, Sundog’s strength may change the future of the entire human race.
Without Sundog’s support, Doctor Adams may never get the chance to follow his “magic” to what he believes may be the key to ending humanity’s plague. Is it his destiny to blaze a path for humanity? Will a new tribe – a Tribe of the Quest – be borne of the ragtag remnants of the defeated, the lost, the aimless? Will Sundog, a humble hunter in the Sky Shadows, be reborn as a new leader?
Only time and experience will tell. For Sundog will travel thousands of miles, and his journey will be full of fantastic discoveries and mortal dangers in Tribes: The Dog Years, coming soon from SoulCraft Comics.
